Monday Meditation with Sharon

UPPER WEST SIDE BUDDHIST MEDITATION CLASS

New Series: Transforming Painful Emotions

In this course, we will be focusing on Buddha’s illuminating teachings on how we can transform our painful and uncontrolled states of mind — the true source of all our suffering — and eventually be free of them.

In each session, we will focus on how to deal with a particular painful state of mind — what Buddha called the delusions, such as anger, jealousy, uncontrolled desire, etc.– learning practical methods to reduce its hold on us and in this way allows us to experience deep and satisfying emotional freedom. As our delusions diminish, we draw closer to the person we wish to be: joyful, confident, loving, and flexible, able to deal skillfully with whatever arises.
